Update in Photos

After a couple of days visiting family and friends in the Netherlands, we drove south.  First stop was Luxembourg, a small country we always just passed by.

I was surprised how beautiful it is.  Impressive bridges, parks, buildings...

We stayed in a quaint hotel built into the hill!

On the way to the south of France: Lyon

The Rhone Valley

Our lodging in Cairanne

Vaison la Romaine, jewel of Roman Provence

Site of a Roman colony

The fountain, one of my favorite structure in a village

and arches, too

Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Food (if I eat and drink like this everyday...)

Spring in Gigondas: vines are sprouting, most restaurants are closed, houses stand empty

Wandering through the village, we chanced upon a gallery reception for a ceramic show. Of course we were welcome!

Sainte-Cecile-les-Vignes: Sometimes, if we went to a village especially for a restaurant,

the village is also worth visiting

Port Camargue: Camargue horses, kumquats, tellines

Aigue Mortes: still cold in March, fish chocolates

Port Napoleon: looking at boats

You know when the boat is a man's domain when it's full of hard drinks!

Arches on boats excite me!

And hydraulics, too!

La Seyn sur Mer: City of Murals

In the spring, poppies are everywhere.
